How it works:

Fall Session (Sept-Nov)

In Fall, students step into the magic of the garden—where hands get dirty, imaginations bloom, and science comes alive under the sun.

Children will plant, grow, and harvest their very own carrots from seed, discovering the wonder of watching life sprout from the soil. Through engaging Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) lessons, they’ll explore plant parts and the interconnected world of roots, leaves, and flowers by creating a Root + Leaf + Flower trio garden bed. Along the way, they’ll learn essential gardening skills like companion planting—seeing how some plants become best friends while others don’t get along.

The garden becomes a classroom for real-life problem-solving as kids meet “the good, the bad, and the ugly” of garden insects—celebrating friendly pollinators and discovering natural ways to manage pests. They’ll even make their own banana fertilizer, using it to nurture the homegrown lettuce that will later become part of a hands-on cooking lesson: harvesting greens, tossing fresh salads, and creating their own delicious dressings.

And because we believe learning should engage the whole child, the program also weaves in stories, character-building fables, and poems, connecting gardening to literature and values. Every lesson happens in the sunshine and fresh air, where children thrive—growing not only food, but resilience, curiosity, and joy.

Spring Session (Mar-May)

Spring is a season of growth—and the garden becomes a living classroom where kids thrive. Students plant seeds and tend new life, while also planting the roots of deep health habits that last a lifetime.

Lessons go beyond planting: children explore macro- and micronutrients, understanding how food fuels their bodies. They get up close and personal with soil health and worms, learning how compost helps care for the earth. Each child takes home a garden project—from regrowing food scraps in the kitchen to planting their own seedlings—so the learning continues at home.

Through hands-on gardening, outdoor discovery, and seasonal harvests, students build science knowledge, practice responsibility, and connect deeply to healthy foods. They see nature’s rhythms come alive—buds to blossoms, seedlings to salads—and discover that their own choices can grow strong bodies and healthy communities.

Year-Round Option:

Continuous impact, aligned with the growing seasons.  A year-round program doesn’t just double the time—it multiplies the benefits for students, staff, and the whole school community.

While schools can choose a fall or spring garden program, the greatest impact happens when students experience the garden across the entire school year.

With a year-round program, learning deepens and benefits multiply:

Deeper Learning – Students see the full cycle of nature, from planting to harvest, observing how the garden changes through seasons. This continuity reinforces science concepts, health education, and personal growth.

Stronger Habits – With ongoing exposure, children practice and repeat healthy behaviors—planting, tasting, cooking, and caring for the earth—until they become lifelong habits.

Expanded Curriculum – Year-round programs allow us to introduce a wider range of lessons: soil and composting in the fall, pollinators and nutrients in the spring, plus cooking, literature, and character-building woven throughout.

Social & Emotional Growth – Consistent time in the garden gives kids the chance to build resilience, teamwork, patience, and joy in nature. The garden becomes a trusted space for connection.

Add-Ons: Staff wellness workshops, family garden nights, full garden installation/refresh.

Our programs don’t stop with the students—gardens have the power to nurture entire communities. We offer staff wellness workshops that give teachers and school leaders space to recharge and model healthy habits. Families are invited to join in during Garden Nights, where parents and children learn, laugh, and grow side by side. And with full garden installations or refreshes, we help schools create vibrant spaces that keep giving back year after year.

These experiences are about more than planting seeds in the soil—they’re about planting seeds of connection, resilience, and joy. Together, schools and families grow stronger, healthier, and more connected to one another and the earth.
